The Desert Dressage Association is committed to the educational and showing opportunities provided to all desert community members in the sport of dressage. Our recognized and schooling dressage shows welcome horse and rider combinations of all levels, in many cases providing first-time junior and amateur exhibitors with a friendly, non-threatening introduction to the competition arena.  DDA is a Group Member Organization of the United States Dressage Federation. Paid DDA membership includes Group Membership with the USDF.

The Desert Dressage Association, or DDA for short, was founded in 2008 by Danielle

“Dannie” Lee, current President of the Dressage Association of Southern California, another USDF Group Member Organization. She has many years experience working on GMO Boards and as a dressage show manager.

Dannie, through the DDA, wishes to offer an organization that caters to its younger members, no matter whether it be years of age or years of experience in dressage. Geographically, the DDA is not bound by state borders; it consists of the entire desert community, including but not limited to Nevada, Utah, California, and Arizona. Our membership is delightfully diverse with riders of all ages competing successfully on a wide variety of horse breeds from Training Level to Grand Prix dressage, Three-Day Eventing, and Western Reining.

Our competition calendar will have a minimum of six rated shows, a schooling show series, and educational events at convenient locations, and a championship show. Rated shows afford riders the opportunity to earn qualifying scores toward the DDA, USEF and USDF championships before nationally- and internationally- recognized judges.

The competition year culminates in the DDA Championship Show, presented each November. All levels will be awarded. We look forward to everyone going home with a prize.

Scores earned in open classes at our Championship Show go towards next year's qualifying for DDA, USEF, and USDF.
